Former English All-rounder, Tim Bresnan announces his retirement from professional cricket, his country club, Warwickshire cricket confirmed on Monday.
Tim received his Warwickshire cap in April last year and he became an important part of the team through key contributions with bat and ball. He said in a statement as per WCCC (Warwickshire Country Cricket Club) that it has been an incredibly tough decision, but after coming back to winter training he felt that this is the right time. Tim has continued to work hard throughout the off-season to prepare for his 21st professional year, but deep down he feels that he can’t reach the high standards he set himself and his teammates.

Tim believes that the hunger and enthusiasm he has for the game he loves will never leave him, but whilst his head is willing to tackle the 2022 season, his body is not.
The 36-year-old said that he’ll always look back on his career with immense pride and it’s been an honour for him to represent Warwickshire, his home country and country. While he was growing up, he never would have believed how fortunate he was to play with and against some of the finest cricketers to grace the game.
“I’m excited about the next chapter and am determined to throw everything into it last did on the cricket field for so many years”, said Tim as per a WCCC statement.
As per Warwickshire Cricket, across his first-class career, Tim made 7138 runs and had taken 575 wickets with seven centuries and nine five-wicket hauls.
At the international level, he represented England in 142 matches, including 23 Tests, being part of the team that had won the 2010/11 Ashes in Australia and went on to the top of the Test rankings in 2011.
