England team always comes well prepared, India shouldn’t take them lightly: Kiran More

After the spectacular Border-Gavaskar title triumph, Team India will aim to add another Test title to as they face England in a four-Test series starting from Friday, February 5.

Former India cricketer Kiran More praised India’s effort in Australia but also cautioned the Indian team not to take the England team lightly as they beat Sri Lanka 2-0 in their den.

“India will definitely do well, but the England team always comes well prepared. They give you surprises. They have two quality spinners in their team also. After the Australia win, India shouldn’t take England lightly,” More told Timesofindia.com.

“India should treat England just like Australia. You can’t take anyone lightly in Test cricket. Every session is a different session in Test cricket,” the former India wicket-keeper added.

Apart from the four-Test series, the two teams would also play five T20Is and three ODIs in India. England’s Captain Joe Root will become the 15th England cricket to play 100 Test matches as he steps out on February 5 at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium.

Besides Root, the likes of Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Zak Crawley and World No.1 Test all-rounder Ben Stokes are set to power England’s batting. Root was also the highest run-getter against Sri Lanka. He scored 426 runs in two matches at an average of 106.50. He also scored a double century in the first Test and went to score 186 in the second.
