England pacer James Anderson becomes first pacer to clinch 950 wickets

James Anderson of England is now the first fast bowler in the history of international cricket to reach 950 wickets. On Day 3 of the second Test against South Africa, he accomplished this illustrious feat. He surpassed Glenn McGrath of Australia’s previous record (949 wickets).  The most productive bowlers in international cricket are Anil Kumble of India (956 wickets), Shane Warne of Australia (1001), and Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka (1,347 wickets)

In total, Anderson has taken 951 wickets across all formats with an average of 27.18 since making his international debut in 2003. The only format Anderson has played in since 2015, Test cricket, has seen up to 664 of these wickets. The only bowler with more than 600 Test wickets is   Anderson and he also has the most ODI wickets for England (269 wickets).
