Steve Smith continued his safe work in the slips during the Boxing Day Test as he moved to 211 catches in Test cricket, leaving him just three catches away from equalling Rahul Dravid’s tally of 210 and three short of the all-time record held by Joe Root (214).
With Australia putting England under pressure early, Smith’s sharp catch to dismiss Zak Crawley added another milestone to his remarkable fielding record.
