England managed to chase the target of 158 runs set by Australia with rather ease despite losing a few quick wickets at the end.
Opener Jos Buttler was arguably the star of the show, as he remained not out on 77 runs off just 54 balls smashing 10 boundaries. Dawid Malan’s contribution of 42 runs proved to be important for England at the end as they lost 3 wickets in 29 runs towards the last few overs.

Australia were starting to hope of turning this match into a victory when Ashton Agar picked up wickets of Dawid Malan and Tom Banton followed by Eoin Morgan’s wicket picked up Adam Zampa.
With 18 runs off 12 balls required to chase for England, Aussie captain Aaron Finch trusted Adam Zampa with the penultimate over of the game. Moeen Ali hit the spinner for a couple of boundaries followed by a six by Jos Buttler to finish off the game in style.
It was a stubborn fightback from our Aussies but we just didn't have enough runs on the board. #ENGvAUS

England win the series as they take a lead of 2-0 in the three match series. A victory in the next game would be important for England as they would overtake Australia to claim the NO.1 spot in the T20I rankings.
Australia would have to make a couple of changes and approach the next game with a fresh mindset, if they are to give themselves any chance of claiming a consolation win in the next game. The NO.1 spot in the T20I rankings is still for Australia’s to retain and they shall put out a good performance to defend their position.
The 3rd and final T20I of the series will take place on Tuesday at Southampton.
