A dramatic end to the 2nd ODI at Manchester between England and Australia ends in a victory for the hosts by 24 runs.

Australia had to chase a target of 232 runs in 50 overs after England posted a total of 231/9 after their 50 overs. The Aussies were cruising at 144/2 at one stage before they lost their remaining 8 wickets for just 63 runs. No one would have expected such a collapse from Australia as captain Aaron Finch was still at the crease with a number of experienced batsmen remaining to bat.

Pacers Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran were the star performers for England with each one of them picking up 3 wickets. Adil Rashid picked up the final wicket of the match of batsman Alex Carey.

Captain Aaron Finch and spinner Adam Zampa were the only positives for Australia as they scored 73 runs of 105 balls hitting 8 boundaries and picking up 3 wickets conceding just 36 runs in a 10 over spell respectively.

The final match of Australia’s tour of England is set to be played at Wednesday in Manchester and it is poised to be a thriller with the ODI series level at 1-1.
