Eoin Morgan, the World Cup-winning captain of England, has joined the commentary team for all of the men’s white-ball matches this summer. After retiring, the veteran hitter will now be donning the commentary hat.
India will be the challenging opponent for the home team in a three-match T20I series, which will be followed by the same number of ODIs. Following retirement, Morgan’s commentary run will begin with this season.
Morgan announced his departure from the international cricket on June 28 (Tuesday). The left-handed batsman made significant contributions to England’s cricket team both with the bat and with his evident leadership qualities. After overcoming New Zealand in one of the most thrilling cricket matches ever seen, the Three Lions, captained by Morgan, went on to win the 2019 World Cup.
Within five minutes of the news of his retirement, SKY announced that the World Cup-winning captain would join its all-powerful commentary team, giving its already excellent coverage of the English summer a fresh perspective.
