The much-anticipated Ashes series is scheduled to kick off on June 16 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, cricket enthusiasts and players alike will have their eyes on the weather forecast, as rain is expected to play a spoilsport during the opening Test match.
While the WTC Final between India and Australia at the Oval witnessed clear skies, it is anticipated that rain will make an appearance at Edgbaston. As England showcases their formidable form in the Bazball cricket style, fans hope that the Test match does not get washed out.
While rain is not expected to interrupt proceedings on the first day of the Birmingham Test, it is anticipated to make an appearance from day 2 onwards. According to AccuWeather, light thunderstorms have been predicted from the second day of the Test match.
The climate during the match is anticipated to range between 14 to 28 degrees Celsius. However, on the last day of the Birmingham Test, which falls on Tuesday, a heavy downpour has been forecasted.
