In a thrilling moment during the one-off Test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, there was a dramatic DRS (Decision Review System) incident on the first day.
In the 45th over, Rahmat Shah’s delivery to Mominul Haque caused a stir. Mominul, attempting to defend, was beaten, leading Afghanistan to review the decision.
The incident occurred when Rahmat Shah delivered a tantalizingly tossed up delivery around the off-stump to Bangladesh’s Mominul Haque. As Mominul attempted to defend, he was beaten by the spin. The Afghan team, sensing an opportunity, decided to go for a review, believing they had caught Mominul off-guard.
Replays were analyzed, and the verdict was finally delivered. The ball was confirmed to have pitched in line and had struck Mominul in line with the stumps. However, the bounce of the delivery was determined to be taking it over the stumps. As a result, Mominul was declared safe, and Afghanistan lost their review.
The excitement did not end there. Just two balls later, Rahmat Shah launched another fiery delivery towards Mominul. This time, it was fuller compared to the previous one. Mominul once again found himself in trouble, failing to connect with the ball and being struck on the pads. A loud appeal for an lbw (leg before wicket) followed, but the on-field umpire remained unmoved.
