Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell thinks there is no room left for him to make a comeback in Test and neither he is on the management’s list for the red ball cricket. Australia began 2021 with the nasty shock after losing the Test at Gabba in Brisbane against an inexperienced Indian team.

While Australia entered into the series as the favourites, India came out as the winners. They not only retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021 but also defeated Australia at Gabba where they were unconquered for 32 years.

“I don’t think I stand anywhere near it, to be honest,” the 32-year-old told Herald Sun newspaper.

“They’ve got their idea of what they want. They’ve got guys in there at the moment who are very, very good first-class players.”

Maxwell played his last Test in 2017 against Bangladesh. With two T20 World Cups in the queue, he wants to focus on the limited over cricket.

“Cameron Green we can see is going to be an absolute superstar, Puck (Will Pucovski), Travis Head’s on the bench averaging 40 in Test cricket.”

“They’ve got more than enough,” he said.

“It’s one of those things where sometimes it’s a bit of a double-edged sword,” Maxwell said.

“You’d love to put your name forward for higher honours, but at the risk of losing your spot in the one-day team it’s not worth it,” he mentioned.
