Indian pacer Deepak Chahar will miss out on his chance to get featured in Asia Cup 2022 after BCCI put him on the standby list.
Considering the inexperienced and very small number of pacers in the Indian squad, Chahar had an opportunity to play in the Asia Cup after Bumrah and Harshal Patel’s injuries forced team India to rethink.
Deepak Chahar recently played against Zimbabwe and it was his first match after a long injury break unfortunately has yet again been injured to not be able to take part in the major event.
However, Rajasthan Royal’s pacer Kuldeep Sen has been called in as a replacement to Deepak Chahar and the fact that BCCI chose Kuldeep Sen as the next best option, might benefit the young pacer in terms of gaining experience and exposure as well.
The 15th Asia Cup, which will take place from August 27 to September 11, will take place in 2022. The host nation of Sri Lanka will play Afghanistan in the opening match of the tournament, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
