The ECB and BCCI have been in talks for a while as they have confirmed England’s tour to India in Feb-March next year.
The tour was in doubt due to the COVID-19 pandemic conditions in India were getting bad. But the tour has got a green signal and will be a complete tour.
They are scheduled to play India in 4 tests, 3 ODI’s and 5 T20’s. The tests will be part of the WTC. One of the four tests will be a day/night test and will be played in the newly built Motera stadium . The entire schedule of this tour will be out after the Australian tour.
The BCCI had multiple plans for this tour if it had not happened in India. UAE, which recently held the IPL 2020 was in the top priority as venue for this tour. UAE successfully held this edition of IPL and was almost fixed as the venue but the BCCI officials confirmed that the tour will be played in India.
The domestic cricket in India will start soon in the month of January according to BCCI.
The tour will be an important one as it will be played just before the IPL and then the reverse fixture will be played in England after the IPL ends.
This will be a historic tour as the Motera stadium will host 5 T20’s and 2 tests in this tour and one of the two tests will be a day/night affair.
