The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 match between Barbados Royals (BR) and Guyana Amazon Warriors (GUY) witnessed a worrying moment when Barbados Royals fielder Kadeem Alleyne suffered a serious shoulder injury while attempting a catch.

The incident occurred in the 11th over of Guyana’s innings, when Dominic Pretorius chipped a delivery from Warrican towards extra cover. Alleyne rushed in, timed his jump well, and had the ball in his hands, but as he landed awkwardly on the ground, the ball popped out and he appeared to suffer a painful blow to his right shoulder.

Live visuals showed Alleyne lying flat on the turf, grimacing in pain as teammates and medical staff rushed to his aid. The physio immediately signaled for a stretcher, and Alleyne was carried off the field to loud applause from the crowd. The early assessment suggested a possible dislocated shoulder, though an official update from the team is awaited.

In his absence, Kofi James came in as the substitute fielder for the Royals.

At that stage, Guyana Amazon Warriors were struggling at 70/4 in 10.2 overs, chasing 166 for victory. While the game carried on, concern for Alleyne overshadowed the action, with fans hoping the injury is not too severe and that the young cricketer makes a swift recovery.
