Surat, Dec 23 : Abhiprai Biswas smashed a brilliant 130 followed by a dominant bowling by Avradip Biswas (5-27) as Bengal Under-16 team stormed into the quarterfinals of the Vijay Merchant Trophy after a dominant innings & 95-run victory over Haryana here on Saturday.
Earlier, after bowling out Haryana for 192 in their first innings, Bengal managed to post a massive 446/5 decl, thanks to Abhiprai, skipper Ashutosh Kumar (101) and Ankit Chatterjee (93) and Ayush Ghosh (65 not out).
Haryana, in their second innings, were once again put to a stern test and were bundled out for just 159 in 74.4 overs. Besides Avradip, Sachin Yadav (3-67) and Shivam Bharati (2-19) were the pick of the bowlers for Bengal.
In the last-eight stage, Bengal will take on Jharkhand on January 3, 2024 in Bangalore.
