Former Indian opener and commentator Aakash Chopra picked his all-time Rajasthan Royals XI on his YouTube channel and surprised people with his choices. According to the IPL norms, a side can only pick four overseas players which made it a bit difficult for the commentator to chose.
With the records of the team, their major success has been due to the immense contribution of the foreign players. Thus, he had to pick very carefully said Aakash. The contribution of the Indian players has been limited and makes it difficult to chose the 11. Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane were the preferences for the opening pair while both of them represent different franchises now.
England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler made the 3rd spot who had a good season last year.
Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi made the fourth and fifth spot leaving out Steve Smith as he would reduce the bowling options according to Aakash. Yusuf Pathan was the last batsman chosen as he could aisles bowl a bit. Ben Stokes, the most talked about player of the year was also left out. Ravindra Jadeja who is no more part of the side was the chosen bowler.
Shane Warne was named the captain for his contribution towards the side in the initial years. James Faulkner didn’t make the side as Siddharth Trivedi was the pacer to be picked. Munaf Patel mad the tenth spot on the team.
England pacer Jofra Archer was his final pick to complete the team and that’s the best he said he could do for Rajasthan Royals.
