For the Indian team, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has scheduled 5 formal training sessions in Nagpur. On February 2, Rohit Sharma and company will arrive in Nagpur, where the hosts will train for 5 days straight. Only two of those sessions will, however, take place at the site of the IND vs AUS first test because BCCI has made special arrangements for the Men in Blue at the former VCA Ground.
“Rohit and Test players will assemble in Nagpur before the series. They will have a camp under Rahul in Nagpur. He will join the team after finishing the T20 series against NewZealand. It’s a fitness camp but before playing a Test series, it will serve as a good opportunity to practice with red ball,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
Before the first test between India and Australia at Nagpur, team India will have 5 days of intensive training. After five years, a Test game will take place at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium to open the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Even though Rohit Sharma and company are expected to meet in Nagpur on February 2, not all of their meetings will take place there.
