Bangladesh Cricket Board has re-signed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan to an all format central contract. He missed most of 2020 as he had to serve a one year ban from all forms of cricket. He was among five others to sign an all-format contract with the BCB.

Tamim Iqbal has only signed a Tests and ODI deal, while Mahmudullah Riyad has signed a Limited Overs contract which involves ODI’s and T20I’S. The board has mostly changed their policy from limiting their contracts to just red or white ball to more format-specific deals.
The announcement of these contracts came after a board meeting on the 1st of September and the central contracts ran from May to December hence they probably wanted to see the performance of the players and discuss their preferences regarding the formats they will play in. The number of contracted players have been raised from 17 last year to 24.
The players who have been given all format central contracts other than Shakib are wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim, batsman Liton Das, fast bowler Taskin Ahmed and medium-fast bowler Shoriful Islam.
Tamim Iqbal who has withdrawn himself from playing the T20 World Cup this year has only signed a Test and ODI contract. Mahmudullah, who retired from Test Cricket earlier this year, has only signed an ODI and T20I contract. Mehidy Hasan and Taijul Islam have also signed a Test and ODI only contract. Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Saifuddin, Afif Hossain have been given ODI and T20I contracts due to their preferences.
