Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed turned the game around in stunning fashion during the 1st T20I against West Indies at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram, picking two wickets in two balls to put the visitors under pressure.
Taskin first dismissed Brandon King for 33 off 36 balls, who mistimed a pull shot straight to Tanzim Hasan Sakib at deep backward square leg. On the very next delivery, Sherfane Rutherford fell for a golden duck, edging one to Litton Das behind the stumps.
The double breakthrough reduced West Indies to 82/3 in 12.2 overs, and Taskin roared in delight as he stood on the verge of a hat-trick. His fiery spell brought Bangladesh back into the contest after West Indies’ strong start led by Athanaze and King.
At the end of that over, Taskin’s figures read 2.2-0-19-2, while West Indies looked to rebuild through Shai Hope, batting on 11 off 10 balls.
