Back to back fifties for the Indian captain as he breaks another record

Indian captain Virat Kohli scored another fifty while batting first in the third ODI against Australia. 

He came in to bat when team lost Dhawan’s wicket on 26. Virat played a crucial role in taking forward the batting line up which was consistently losing wickets after getting decent starts. This was his 60th half century in ODI’s as he got his fifty with 4 boundaries. He did not play any risky shot in his innings till now and is still on the crease to get team above par score at Canberra.

In this innings, when crossed 23 run mark he became the fastest batsman to score 12,000 runs in ODI’s, breaking the record of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He did it in his 251st match while Sachin did it in 309 matches. Virat with this joined the list of legends who have 12000 runs in ODI’s which has the likes of Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene and Sanath Jayasuriya. He will be eyeing for another record to break in this innings of most centuries against Australia which is again with Sachin Tendulkar now for scoring 9 centuries against them. Virat has 8 centuries against the Aussies, if he scores another today he will equal the record with the God of cricket.
