In a stunning display of power-hitting during the Australia vs South Africa, 1st T20I at Darwin, Tim David smashed a monstrous 109-metre six that cleared the boundary and landed on the stadium roof.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bowl first, and the visitors made early inroads, reducing Australia to 75/6 inside eight overs. Tim David, however, counterattacked alongside Ben Dwarshuis, bringing much-needed acceleration to the innings.

The highlight came in the 12th over bowled by Senuran Muthusamy. Facing a fuller delivery outside off stump, David bent his right knee, reached out, and launched the ball over extra cover with a launch speed of 140.3 km/h. The ball travelled a massive 109 metres, drawing loud applause from the Darwin crowd as it sailed onto the roof.

At the time of the big hit, Tim David was on 37 from 23 balls, with two fours and four sixes, keeping Australia’s hopes alive despite the top-order collapse in this Australia vs South Africa, 1st T20I clash.
