However, the duo of Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur displayed grit against the Aussies. The debutants stitched a record-breaking partnership of 123 runs for the 7th wicket.
Virat Kohli took Twitter to appreciate the two young Test debutants Thakur and Sundar. India looked in despair when they had lost their top six. The duo took India to much closer to the Australian score of 369.
Kohli seemed impressed by the composure shown by the duo and wrote:
