Australia opener Travis Head reached another major career milestone during the third ODI against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, becoming the fastest Australian batter to score 3,000 runs in ODIs.
Head, who needed 22 runs to reach the mark before the match, achieved the feat in just 76 innings, breaking Steve Smith’s record of 79 innings.
At the time of reaching the milestone, Head was batting on 22 off 20 balls with five fours, guiding Australia to 48/0 in 7.1 overs alongside skipper Mitchell Marsh, who was on 19 off 23 balls.
