Pakistan was knocked out for 268 runs, with the last seven wickets falling for only 20 runs. Starc took the last wicket as Naseem Shah became the third man in the row to be dismissed for a duck.
Mitchell Starc struck twice in the closing session with two superb deliveries, while Pat Cummins also bowled a gem to help Australia take the third Test on their favor.
Azhar Ali became the first Pakistani batsman to reach the 7,000-run mark in a Test match. Before being caught and bowled for 78 by Australia skipper Pat Cummins, the 37-year-old brushed spinner Nathan Lyon to hit the benchmark. Azhar became the sixth Pakistan batsman and the 54th overall to reach the 7,000-run mark in Test cricket after 94 matches.
Before spinner Nathan Lyon achieved the first breakthrough of the day, removing Abdullah Shafique for 81 runs, the Pakistan batsmen made the bowlers work hard for their wickets. Ali, on the other hand, continued to dazzle as he built on his half-century.
On Day 2 of the third and final Test, Pakistani speed bowler Shaheen Afridi ended Australia’s innings by removing Mitchell Swepson.
Pat Cummins earns his five wicket haul for the first time in the series by an impressive bowling of 5/56. Mitchell Starc’s bowling figures of 4/33 were very remarkable.
Sensational fast bowling from Australia 👏
