Rohit Sharma who was looking in good touch during India’s first inning couldn’t score as expected. Rohit scored 44 in 74 balls with 6 fours and got caught at mid-on by Starc. Nathan Lyon lured him with flight and foxed him beautifully and there was a fielder at the deep who didn’t miss this opportunity. As Rohit Sharma is one of the most senior player in the team right now, the responsibility of bringing India to the winning den is on his shoulders.

Rohit is unable to convert his fifties into tons despite getting a good start and putting pressure on the opposition’s bowlers. Rohit Sharma did a video interview after the end of day 2 and talked about his dismissal. He also told that he is fit and will be playing for India for the rest of the days.

“The shot that I played, I played it very well in the past. So, it is something that I back to do all the time. That is the kind of role that I have to play in this team. Yes, it looks bad but that is something that I don’t really think too much into. My focus has always been that once I’m in, I’ll make it count, I’ll make it big. If I am in the team I have to make sure that I’m on top of the bowlers and try to keep the pressure on the opposition’s bowlers. Sometimes you get out and sometimes it goes over the ropes. It was an unfortunate and very sad dismissal but those are my shots and I’ll keep playing them”: Rohit Sharma said.

The play was abandoned for day 2 in Gabba because of heavy rainfall and India finish at 62/2 with skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara on the crease. Rohit Sharma’s dismissal cost India very much and built pressure on the lower order batsmen.
