India got off to a quick start in the final T20I at The Gabba, Brisbane, but it could have been an early setback had Glenn Maxwell held onto a simple catch in the very first over.

Facing Ben Dwarshuis, opener Abhishek Sharma mistimed a lofted shot straight up in the air. Maxwell did well to move quickly and get under it but surprisingly dropped the sitter, giving Abhishek an early reprieve. The left-hander made the most of his luck, striking a boundary soon after as India reached 11 for no loss after the first over.

Abhishek was batting on 6 off 4 balls, while Shubman Gill raced to 5 off 2 deliveries with a classy stroke. With India already off to a brisk start at a run rate of 11, that missed chance could prove costly for Australia in this high-stakes series decider.
