Boland continues to tear through England at the MCG. Scott Boland struck again to remove Will Jacks, who edged one behind to Alex Carey, as England slipped deeper into trouble at 77/7 in 20.2 overs.

The delivery had extra bounce off a wobble seam, and Jacks, pushing away from his body, only managed an inside edge that carried comfortably to Carey. It was another soft dismissal in a collapsing innings. Will Jacks c Carey b Boland 5 (10).

Earlier in the session, England had already lost key wickets in quick succession, including Harry Brook, Jamie Smith and Ben Stokes’ partners, after Australia bundled England out for 152 in the first innings. Boland’s accuracy and relentless channel bowling have exposed England’s fragile middle order once again at the ‘G’.

With seven wickets down and still trailing by 75 runs, England are staring at another steep uphill task in this Ashes Test, while Australia tighten their grip through disciplined fast bowling and sharp catching.
