The team carried out the plan as it was planned, according to Afghanistan bowling coach Umar Gul, and it has been a terrific evening for the Afghanistan team after closing up the Sri Lankan series in 105 runs.
Umar Gul was recruited as Afghanistan’s bowling coach in May 2022, and the team seemed to have gained an advantage as the bowling unit carried out the plan successfully.
“I think we read the pitch well, I passed on the message to our bowlers and they executed things well. It is difficult to overcome a language barrier, but I am used to this culture, I am also a Pathan. Also, these guys have been given the full freedom and they aren’t afraid to approach us. The ball is stopping a bit, coming a bit slow- whoever can hit the back of a length deliveries will be good. At the same time, the batters should look to play straight,” said Umar Gul.
