Pakistan, after a shaky outing against the UAE, managed to scrape through to the next round of the Asia Cup 2025, joining India from Group A. Despite arriving late at the venue and making a slow start with the bat, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s late cameo pushed Pakistan to a total of 146. That proved sufficient as a disciplined bowling and fielding display sealed their qualification.
India, meanwhile, had already sealed their spot after another dominant performance against Pakistan earlier in the tournament. Kuldeep Yadav led the spin attack to restrict Pakistan to just 127/9, a target India chased down with ease and 25 balls to spare.
Now, the two arch-rivals are set to clash once again in the Super Four stage. The high-voltage fixture will take place on September 21 at 8 PM IST, with A1 (India) taking on A2 (Pakistan) in Dubai.
