India clawed back into the contest as spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Hussain Talat, reducing Pakistan to 110/3 in 13.1 overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Talat, who was looking to accelerate, attempted a reverse sweep but mistimed it completely, sending a top-edge straight into the hands of Varun Chakaravarthy. He managed 10 runs off 11 balls, leaving Sahibzada Farhan (58*) to anchor Pakistan’s innings.
At this stage, Pakistan’s run rate stands at 8.35, with the last five overs fetching 34 runs for the loss of two wickets. Earlier, Fakhar Zaman (15) fell to Hardik Pandya, while Saim Ayub (21) was dismissed by Shivam Dube.
India’s spinners are now tightening the screws in the middle overs after a strong powerplay from Pakistan.
