Pakistan got a big slice of luck in the Super Four clash against India as Kuldeep Yadav put down a simple chance to dismiss Saim Ayub.
The moment came in the 5th over when Varun Chakaravarthy bowled a googly from round the wicket. The ball gripped and bounced, catching the top edge of Ayub’s attempted slog-sweep. It went high in the air toward short fine-leg, but Kuldeep made a mess of what should have been a regulation catch.
Ayub survived, moving to 6 runs, while Pakistan reached 43/1 after 5 overs, with Sahibzada Farhan at the other end. Fakhar Zaman (15) was earlier dismissed by Hardik Pandya, caught behind by Sanju Samson.
