Amol Muzumdar, former coach of the Rajasthan Royals, is set to become the head coach of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. After impressing the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) during interviews, Muzumdar emerged as the top choice for the position.
He will sign a two-year deal and his first assignment will be the series against Bangladesh Women. Muzumdar, who had a successful domestic career, including coaching stints with the Mumbai Ranji side and the Rajasthan Royals, stood out with his impressive presentation to the CAC.
His main focus as head coach will be improving the team’s physical fitness, mental toughness, and performance in high-stakes games. With upcoming ICC events in the subcontinent, including the T20 World Cup in 2024, Muzumdar will aim to guide the team to an elusive ICC title.
