Grades in BCCI’s annual contract are divided into A+, A, B, and C, with Grade A+ paying the highest of Rs 7 crores in Grades A, B, and C at Rs 5 Crores, Rs 3, and Rs 1 crore respectively.
Hardik Pandya has been out of the team for some time due to fitness due to which he has been shifted from Grade A to Grade C. Along with these players, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav have also been demoted in the annual contract. Both Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been moved to Grade C.
While bad news has come for some players, some players like Axar Patel and Mohammad Siraj, and Shreyas Iyer have also got promotions. All three players have been included in the upgraded Grade B contract. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah have managed to make their place in Grade A+. Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and R Ashwin have also retained their places in Grade A.
