Ahmedabad IPL Team unveils their name

Ahmedabad franchise has officially announced their name for the upcoming Indian Premier League.

CVC’s capital-owned Ahmedabad team have announced their team name in the pre-match session of the 2nd ODI game between the West Indies and India. Skipper Hardik and Coach Nehra were also live during the name announcement of the Ahmedabad team.

The official name of the Ahmedabad team in the IPL is Gujrat Titans as announced by the franchise itself on Wednesday as the CVC-owned team will now officially call its team with the given name. The fans will be excited with the name of ‘Gujrat Titans’ as it will be captained by their local hero Hardik Pandya who has been a part of 4-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians and will surely bring experience with a passion to the team.

Ashish Nehra will be coaching the Gujarat Titans while ex-cricketer Vikram Solani has been appointed the director of the team. World Cup-winning coach Gary Kirsten will be the batting coach and the mentor of the team.

The top three Titans picked by the team are – skipper Hardik Pandya for ₹15 crores, one of the talented leg-spinner Rashid Khan for the similar price of ₹15 crores, and young batsman Shubman Gill for ₹8 crores. CVC Capital-owned team Gujrat Titans were bought for ₹5625 crores.

While the Lucknow team called its team name – Lucknow Super Giants which will be captained by KL Rahul who was bought for ₹ 17 crores, Marcus Stoinis at ₹9.2 crores, and Ravi Bishnoi for ₹ 4 crores. Goenka’s RPSG group bought the Lucknow franchise for ₹ 7090 crores.
