Najeeb Tarakai, Afghanistani batsman passed away on Tuesday in an unfortunate accident. The batsman was hit by a speeding car while crossing a road. He was severely injured and slipped into a coma right after. The news of his accident was announced by the twitter handle of Afghanistan cricket board.
The tweet read “ACB and Afghanistan Cricket Loving Nation mourns the heartbreaking & grievous loss of its aggressive opening batsman & a very fine human being Najeeb Tarakai (29) who lost his life to tragic traffic accident leaving us all shocked! May Allah Shower His Mercy on him.”

He made his debut in 2014 against Bangladesh during the Asia cup. He has played 12 T20’s for the nation and scored a highest of 90 against Ireland. He later did not feature in any other tournament due to his performance.
