Rovman Powell hits a beautiful century against England which will be his maiden century in the T20 format as well. The stunning show of fours and sixes has helped him score a ton with a strike rate of more than 200.
Rovman Powell came down after West Indies lost two wickets and assisted Pooran who looked pretty positive with the bat. Pooran failed to hold and score a ton and got out in 70 runs, having played just 43 balls. On the other side, Powell was able to score his maiden century in T20 against one of the strongest teams – England. Powell has scored almost half the runs of the team’s score and also helped the team to cross the 200 runs mark.
Fans and the team itself felt excited with the powerful show of Rovman Powell. Rovman got a chance today as a replacement and utilized his opportunity to score his maiden century. Powell assisted Pooran and both of them held a strong partnership in the middle. Pooran’s wicket did not affect Powell as he continued hitting. The century includes 4 fours while Powell hits for 10 sixes throughout the game.
Topley was able to take Powell’s wicket in the 19th over as Livingstone caught the ball, helping Topley bag in a crucial wicket. But England realizes that it was quite late to take out Powell as only one over was left. Powell got out scoring 107 runs in 53 balls with a strike rate of 201.89
