The Former all-rounder for the Indian men’s cricket team, Yuvraj Singh scripted history on this very day 14 years ago in 2007 where he became the first-ever batsman to send all balls bowled over the boundary line in a single over of T20 International cricket. Yuvraj displayed the extraordinary in the 19th over of the Indian innings where he hit England’s Stuart Broad for six sixes that took India’s batting total over the 200 run mark.

The start of the game saw India winning the toss and had opted to bat first. The left-hander made his way to the crease after the departure of Robin Uthappa. Yuvraj wasted no time to settle in and finished his innings at 58 runs in 16 balls which included 3 fours and 7 sixes. He lost his wicket in the 19.5 over to Andrew Flintoff having a strike rate of 362.50.
The game didn’t look good for India as the Men in Blue found themselves on 171/3 at the end of the 18th over. Yuvraj Singh and the then skipper MS Dhoni were the duos at the middle of the field for India who was looking to finish off the first innings on a high, and high they did, courtesy of Yuvraj’s single over the display. At the end of the second innings, England could only manage to put a total of 200 runs on the board while losing 6 wickets courtesy of Irfan Pathan (3wkts), RP Singh (2wkts) and Harbhajan Singh (1wtk) to win the game by 18 runs. India went on to lift the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 after the win over Pakistan in the final by 5 runs.
