Pune’s motorsport fans were treated to an unforgettable night as the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) Season 2 kicked off with roaring engines, flying dirt, and a packed crowd at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi.

Adding to the hometown pride, BB Racing—the Pune-based franchise—emerged as the overall winner of Round 1, setting the stage for a fierce and exciting season ahead.

The opening weekend of the world’s first franchise-based Supercross league brought together a mix of international stars and Indian racers, turning Balewadi into a global arena of speed and skill. Spectators cheered as riders from Australia, the USA, France, South Africa, Thailand, and India battled it out under the floodlights.

In the 450cc International Class, Matt Moss (Australia) of BigRock Motorsports mastered the challenging track to claim the top podium spot on his Kawasaki. The crowd roared again when Hunter Schlosser (USA), riding for BB Racing, delivered a flawless run in the 250cc International Class to take the win on his Honda. Meanwhile, Ben Hallgren (Thailand) of Gujarat Trailblazers dominated the 250cc India-Asia Mix category, crossing the line in front of a packed grandstand.

The weekend also spotlighted Indian talents like Rugved Barguje, Ikshan Shanbhag, and Prajwal Vishwanath, who went handlebar-to-handlebar with global names. With 36 international athletes from 21 countries competing this season, India’s Supercross scene has clearly arrived on the world stage.

Beyond the racing, the Reise Moto Fan Park turned the venue into a motorsport carnival, with live music, gaming zones, food stalls, and exclusive merchandise—offering fans a full-throttle entertainment experience.

Calling the event a “defining moment,” Eeshan Lokhande, Co-founder of ISRL, said, “Seeing top international riders compete alongside Indian talent on home soil shows how far we’ve come. India is no longer just watching motorsport—it’s part of it.”

Echoing the sentiment, Veer Patel, Co-founder and Managing Director, ISRL, added, “The energy in Pune was electric. This is more than racing; it’s the start of a sporting movement that blends competition, entertainment, and community.”

The league now shifts gears to Hyderabad for Round 2 on December 6–7, before heading to Kozhikode, Kerala, for the grand finale on December 20–21.
