The 23-year-old had the entire country captivated as she finished an agonising fourth at the Tokyo Olympics. Aditi was ranked at world number 200 before entering the Olympic games.
The Open appearance extends the young golfer’s record of starts at Majors to 19. Her last appearance was Amundi Evian Championship last month.
No other Indian, man or woman have played as many Majors as Aditi Ashok who now has 4 to her name in this season.
Aditi was one-over after 12 holes and did well to get to 2-under and finish sole second while ending one shot behind the American Lindsey Weaver (67) while Kirsten Rugeley, Nicole Larsen Broch, Magdalena Simmermacher and Cheng Ssu Chia were Tied for 3rd at 1-under.
Aditi’s best Major finish was the T-22 at the Open at Royal Lytham and St. Annes back in the year 2018. This will be her fifth arrival at the Women’s Open.
Panmure is the 16th oldest golf club in the world. The club’s existence goes back to 1845 that has hosted the Open qualifiers on many occasions in the past. The course is a big test and has very challenging and undulating greens for the Indian golfer.
