Markram taken apart for 32 as PBKS go berserk in Mullanpur

Aiden Markram was smashed for 32 runs in a single over as Punjab Kings turned a batting track in Mullanpur into a scoring frenzy against LSG. What was meant to be a control over quickly turned into a batting exhibition from Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly.

The over began with Connolly clearing long-on with a clean strike, before he repeated the dose twice more, both times sending the ball deep into the stands. Markram’s attempts to vary pace and length did not work, as anything in the slot disappeared.

Arya then joined the assault with two sixes of his own, one straight down the ground and another over mid-wicket, pushing the over into complete chaos. A wide only added to the damage.

By the end of the 13th over, PBKS had raced to 179 for 1, with momentum fully out of LSG’s control.

Pbks openers set Mullanpur alight after winning toss bat first

After being asked to bat on home soil, Punjab Kings made sure the toss decision did not hurt them. Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly stitched together a dominant stand, keeping the scoring rate well above anything LSG could manage.

Arya raced to 92 off 35 balls while Connolly hammered 82 off 42, both batting with freedom as the ball disappeared to all parts. Their partnership set up what looked like a 250-plus total, with LSG bowlers struggling to find any control or rhythm.

Markram’s over summed up the innings  loose lengths punished, variations read early, and no let-up from the batters. PBKS turned early dominance into full control of the match.
