Apple is expected to release the 5G update in iOS 16 from the next week in India. According to a report, the move is being executed much sooner than expected in the country. However, Apple will be enabling 5G only in the iOS 16 Beta Software Program for now.Following pressure from the Indian government to enable 5G services on Apple devices, the company in October announced that its users will be able to use 5G services from December this year.
An Apple user from Mumbai told Business Upturn, “We received an update of iOs 16.1 recently and we had expected the 5G update in the same. However, we are still awaiting the same and if the news goes right, it will be a big update for users like us in India.”
Users of Airtel and Jio, the two 5G service providers in India currently, will be able to use the services on their iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE (3rd generation).
The Apple Beta Software Program lets users try out pre-release software and experience the latest features before the software becomes more widely available. Furthermore, users are invited to provide feedback to Apple on quality and usability, which helps Apple identify issues, fix them, and make Apple software even better.
