Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, one of India’s leading hotel chains, has announced the signing of a new property under its Keys Prima brand in Darjeeling, West Bengal. The hotel will be operated by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels, and is expected to commence operations in FY2026.

Located in the heart of Darjeeling, the upcoming property will feature 65 well-appointed rooms, along with a restaurant, a meeting room, recreation facilities, and other public spaces. Strategically placed for travellers, it lies just 2.5 km from Darjeeling Railway Station and approximately 70 km from Bagdogra Airport, ensuring excellent connectivity via both rail and air.

Darjeeling, often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills,” is one of India’s most popular hill stations, renowned for its colonial-era charm, world-famous tea gardens, vibrant local culture, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas including Mount Kanchenjunga.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Vilas Pawar, CEO – Managed & Franchise Business, Lemon Tree Hotels, said, “We are excited to extend our footprint in West Bengal. This new property will enhance our strategic growth in the state, complementing our portfolio of two existing hotels and two upcoming properties.”

This latest addition strengthens Lemon Tree Hotels’ presence in eastern India, bringing its overall network to over 210 properties, including more than 110 operational hotels and 100+ in the pipeline across India and international locations like Dubai, Bhutan, and Nepal.

The new Darjeeling hotel aligns with Lemon Tree’s strategy of expanding into high-potential tourist destinations while offering a differentiated yet value-driven hospitality experience.
