PM Modi: Coronavirus vaccine will be ready in few weeks

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting with leaders of all parties to discuss the COVID-19 situation.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted ahead of the meeting, “In today’s all-party meeting, we hope the PM clarifies by when will every Indian get free Covid vaccine.”

PM Modi assured that nearly 8 vaccines are on the verge of trial with their manufacturing in India. Moreover, 3 vaccines from India are at different stages and experts say that vaccine isn’t too far away.

He stated that India will roll out the COVID-19 vaccination program only after experts give a nod. He said as reported “Our scientists are very confident of succeeding in their endeavour of making COVID-19 vaccine. The world is keeping a watch on the cheapest and safe vaccine.” He continued, “Teams of central and state government are working together for vaccine distribution. India has the expertise and capacity in vaccine distribution and fares better compared to other nations. We have a very big and experienced network in the field of vaccination.”

On Thursday, Indian detected 36,595 fresh cases of COVID-19 and it took the overall tally to over 95.71 lakhs. However, active cases have further dropped to 4.16 lakh and 90,16,289 people have recovered so far. 43,000 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours. Sadly, 540 new deaths were reported with a tally of 1,39,188.
