Infosys books chartered flights for workers and families stranded within the US. Infosys carried back some of the staff. And their families whose visas had expired and were trapped in the United States. After the Corona Virus pandemic and the worldwide lock down. Two hundred people, staff and family, flew in a chartered flight to Bengaluru .And reached Monday morning. They ‘re going to work from Bengaluru or elsewhere in India. Therefore, Infosys books chartered flights.
In his LinkedIn account, Sanjeev Bode, a senior executive at Infosys wrote,”Some of Infosys staff are stranded in the US due to expiry of their visa. The pandemic has stopped all international flights”.
“The company booked the first-ever chartered flight exclusively for 200+ employees and families from the US to India. At the time of writing the flight had landed safely in Bangalore, bringing an end to weeks of dilemma related to the uncertain situation”,he further said on his LinkedIn account.
“Infosys: compassionate capitalism at work!”, Co-founder of Infosys, Nandan Nilekani, wrote on Twitter.
Since India is introducing its “Unlock 2” program to combat the Corona Virus Pandemic. Also the ban on global flights has been extended until 31 July. However the civil aviation regulator DGCA announced that the ban on all world flights has been extended. Which would be until 31st July. And that only freight and flights approved by DGCA can be permitted.
Under the Vande Bharat Mission. Which began on 6 May, Air India and other private domestic airlines operated unplanned international repatriation flights.
On May 25, after 2 months of coronavirus lockdown. Hence, the nation reinstated its scheduled domestic passenger flights at the end of March. Which was according to strict guidelines on security and social distancing.
