Education Minister Nishank informs postponement of JEE (Main) May session amid COVID surge

Keeping in view the persistently rising Covid cases in the country, JEE (Mains) exams stand postponed, informs the union education minister on Twitter.

Amid the consistently rising Covid-19 contagion, National Testing Agency (NTA) announces the postponement of JEE (Main) exams.

“The JEE (Main)- 2021 May session is currently scheduled on 24, 25, 26, 27, and 28 May 2021. However, keeping the present situation in mind, the JEE (Main)- 2021 May session is also being postponed”, says the notice issued by the NTA.

In addition to this, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal informs in a tweet, “Looking at the present situation of Covid-19 and keeping students safety in mind, JEE (Main)- May 2021 session has been postponed.”

Well, in the wake of the prevailing situation in the country, NEET exams have already been postponed, and also, MBBS pass-outs/MBBS Final years/Nurses as interns will be deployed in Covid management & Covid duties to boost up the availability of medical personnel.

Although, the Covid-19 situation in India is getting ponderable, indeed. Several states including Bihar, Haryana have announced a complete lockdown in the states.

The total number of cases in India stands at 20.3 million along with 3,57,316 infections reported in a span of 24 hours. Though, as per the reports of the union health ministry, more than 15 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to date.
