Maharashtra has recently seen a massive spike in COVID-19 cases. Especially in Mumbai 500+ cases are being registered everyday which has become the matter of concern for the state government. The CM Uddhav Thackeray, has given a 8 days ultimatum to both health care officers as well as to the citizens of Maharashtra. He has strictly asked everyone to maintain social distancing norms or else the last option left with him is to impose a lockdown.
Director Sanjay Gupta has openly shown alot of confidence in Uddhav Thackeray’s government in tackling this next wave. He recently tweeted on his twitter handle. He wrote, “As much as I fear the spurt in Covid cases in our Maharashtra I have greater confidence in @CMOMaharashtra to control it as he has all this while.”

This tweet comes after a sudden spike in the cases which is also seen as 3rd wave. It has worried every small scale, large scale filmmakers and producers. As we all know Mumbai is considered the center for Bollywood, and Maharashtra was the first state to allow theaters to run at 100% capacity. This move was warmly welcomed by film makers. Many films have already announced their release dates, but now seeing the current condition might have raised a lot of questions in filmmakers mind.
