As the cases of COVID-19 are decreasing in the national capital, the Health Department of Delhi government has issued an order on Saturday to declare six of its hospitals as completely ‘Non-COVID’. The order will come into force with immediate effect.
The hospitals of which have been declared completely COVID-19 free are–Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital and SRC Hospital.
Also, with the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi, the number of reserve COVID-19 beds has also been reduced in five government hospitals. The hospitals are, Lok Nayak Hospital (300 COVID-19 beds have been reduced), Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (500 beds reduced), Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital (50 beds reduced), Burari Hospital (320 beds reduced) and Ambedkar Nagar Hospital (300 beds reduced).
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Delhi has reported a total of 1,194 active COVID-19 cases.
The vaccine drive in Delhi is also at its peak, on Thursday, nearly 9,500 healthcare workers received COVID-19 vaccine shots in Delhi in the third week of the inoculation drive, with a turnout of more than 51 per cent. The targeted number for vaccination on February 4 was 18,300, officials said.
