Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan Friday took  the status of the COVID-19 vaccination programme with all stakeholders and asked states and Union territories to accelerate the pace of vaccination and achieve full vaccination coverage.

The recent vaccination declining data and slow vaccination rate was the key concern of the meeting and asked to take compensation measures to overcome it.

He also  asked the states to follow “First Expiry First Out” principle, where the vaccine doses that are approaching their expiry dates should be used first.

COVID-19 vaccine is a precious national resource and there should not be any scope for  wastage of vaccines at any cost. This has to  be ensured through active monitoring.”

The ministry has planned a program named “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0” to achieve the national goal of a complete vaccination drive.

The first drive that took place was a grand success and the healthcare staff has taken every keen steps to make this happen.

“No COVID-19 vaccination centre or state government should insist on documentary proof of foreign travel for those who are seeking a precaution dose ahead of their travel abroad”.

Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said Indian citizens travelling overseas can take precautionary doses as per the prescription given by the doctors in the destination country.
