KIMS Hospitals has signed a 60-year lease agreement with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) for nearly two acres of land in Amaravati, marking a significant healthcare expansion in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the company, the leased land will be used to develop a new 500-bed multi-speciality hospital aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the state’s capital region.

The proposed facility is expected to offer advanced tertiary and quaternary care services across multiple medical specialties. The expansion also signals increasing private sector investment in Amaravati, which continues to position itself as a major administrative and infrastructure hub in Andhra Pradesh.

KIMS Hospitals said the agreement forms part of its broader growth strategy to expand its presence across southern India and improve access to high-quality healthcare services in emerging urban centres.

The company has not yet disclosed the total investment value or construction timeline for the proposed project. However, industry observers say the scale of the planned hospital indicates a major long-term commitment to the Amaravati region.

The development comes as Andhra Pradesh continues efforts to attract investments in healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors. Amaravati has remained a focal point for large-scale urban development projects following renewed policy attention toward the capital city’s expansion.

Healthcare demand in the region has also grown steadily in recent years due to population growth, urbanisation and rising requirements for advanced medical treatment facilities.

KIMS Hospitals operates a network of hospitals across several Indian cities and is known for providing services in cardiology, oncology, neurology, organ transplantation and critical care specialties.

The new hospital project is expected to create employment opportunities for healthcare professionals, administrative staff and support workers once operational. It may also improve access to specialised medical treatment for residents of Amaravati and surrounding districts.

The APCRDA has been involved in allocating land for infrastructure and institutional projects as part of the long-term development vision for Amaravati.

Further details regarding project approvals, construction phases and operational timelines are expected to be announced in the coming months.
