India breached the 5 lakh mark as the states registered 18,552 fresh Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. This crossed the last highest record of 17, 296 fresh cases in a single day. The country’s tally now stands at 5,08,953.

The number of active cases in the country stands at 1,97,387 while over 2,95,881 patients have recovered from the Coronavirus infection. The recovery rate stands at 58.13%. The country’s death toll has also increased to 15,685.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state with a total of 1,52,765 cases.
The active number of cases stands at 65,844 while 79,815 have recovered.
A total of 7,106 patients have succumbed to the Coronavirus infection.

In terms of the total number of Coronavirus cases, India’s national capital Delhi remains in the second position.
The tally now stands at 77,240 and the death toll at 2,492.
A total number of 47,091 patients have recovered from the infection while 27,654 cases are still active.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal conducted a press conference on Friday and assured that the current situation of the state is under control and that the testing rate has been increased by three times.

As per the World Health Organisation, the count of Coronavirus cases has increased to 9.4 million cases and the death toll has increased to 4.8 lakh across the globe. In the last 24 hours, over 1,77,000 fresh cases were recorded and 5,116 fatalities were reported.
