India’s COVID-19 count surged to 425,282 as 14,821 people tested positive for the Coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. The highest number of cases were recorded by these two states – Maharashtra and Delhi. Telangana and Assam also witnessed a spike in their daily number of cases.

Over 400 fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths till date to 13,699. Over 45% of the fatalities recorded on Sunday came from Maharashtra.

Goa reported its first death from the Coronavirus infection. An 85-year-old lady from North Goa succumbed to the infection.

The total number of active Coronavirus cases in the country reached 174,387. Over 2.35 lakh patients have recovered from the infection so far.

On Sunday, Maharashtra reported at least 3,870 positive cases.
The state’s total number of cases stood at 132,075.
186 deaths were recorded by the state on Sunday, the death toll has crossed the 6,000 mark.
Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of cases and deaths in India.

Delhi witnessed a slight dip in the number of cases in the last 24 hours.
The national capital recorded 3,000 fresh cases on Sunday taking the tally towards the 60,000 mark.
On Sunday, Delhi reported 63 fatalities.

For the fifth day straight, Tamil Nadu reported over 2,000 cases.
Chennai and three other districts are under lockdown till the end of the month.
